Injury Recovery and Early Intervention Framework
The Injury Recovery and Early Intervention Framework (the Framework) has been developed with the primary purpose of enabling and supporting the recovery of people injured through motor vehicle trauma who are eligible to make Compulsory Third Party (CTP) insurance claims.
The Framework supports the CTP Regulator’s objective of enhancing outcomes for injured people through reasonable and necessary evidence-based medical and allied health interventions.
The Framework aims to clarify each party’s role and responsibilities in supporting injured claimants in their recovery. The Framework also provides guidance to injured claimants on how to interact with the CTP system, and how to minimise any concerns about accessing treatment and payment for reasonable and necessary interventions.
In addition, the Regulator’s brochure Recovering from your motor vehicle accident injuries has been developed to help injured people understand the claims process in the CTP Scheme, including:
- how the CTP Scheme works
- what they should expect from CTP Insurers
- what is meant by ‘reasonable and necessary’ treatment services
- their rights and responsibilities.
