The MAIAS Administrator monitors the performance of Accredited Medical Practitioners to ensure that standards required by the rules, Civil Liability Act 1936 (CLA), Civil Liability Regulations 2013 (CLR) and MAIAS Training Manual 2022 (4th Edition) are met.

The quality assurance program samples ISV medical assessment reports for assessment by peer reviewers to measure:

  • compliance with accreditation obligations, the CLA and CLR
  • accuracy in assessment methodology and calculations
  • timeframes for report delivery.

The purpose of this quality assurance program is to identify improvement opportunities for both the scheme and individual Accredited Medical Practitioners. The results of the program are the basis for the training plan, to support Accredited Medical Practitioners to achieve consistent, objective and reliable ISV medical assessments.
