Who can claim
The CTP Scheme provides cover for the necessary and reasonable treatment, care and support of children under the age of 16 years injured in an accident that occurred in South Australia on or after 1 July 2013.
This cover is available regardless of who is at fault and whether the at-fault vehicle is registered in South Australia or interstate. If an unknown or uninsured vehicle was involved, the Nominal Defendant Scheme will provide this cover.
Managing your claim
Under the Regulator Rules, CTP Insurers must have a strategy in place for managing children’s claims. This ensures the unique nature of children’s claims, and the effect on the child and their family, is recognised.
