The CTP Scheme provides necessary and reasonable treatment, care and support of children under the age of 16 years for injuries that occurred in South Australia on or after 1 July 2013.

This cover applies regardless of who is at fault and whether the at-fault vehicle is registered in South Australia or interstate.

A child under 18 years of age at the accident date is able to claim for compensation if they were not at fault in the accident, such as when they are a passenger in the vehicle.

If an uninsured or unknown vehicle is involved, the Nominal Defendant Scheme will provide this cover. The Regulator allocates the claim to one of the insurers to manage. Find out more about the Nominal Defendant Scheme or contact our Enquiries Line for assistance.
